Jeptha "Jep" Barbour practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation including products liability, medical malpractice, disability, life and health insurance litigation and commercial litigation.
Mr. Barbour is a native of Jacksonville and has practiced law with Marks Gray since 1982. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar. He has served on the Board of the Jacksonville Bar Association from 1992 to 1997 (President 1996-97) and Board of the Young Lawyers Section 1987 to 1991 (President 1990-91).
Mr. Barbour is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is an active member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, serving on the Medical Malpractice (Chair, 2003-2005), Products Liability, Drug and Medical Device and Civil Rights and Governmental Law Committees, and the faculty (1997) and Director (2011) of the Trial Academy. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, the American Board of Trial Advocates (President – Jacksonville Chapter 2005), the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, the Jacksonville Defense Lawyers Association and is a Master of the Bench in the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. He was a member of the Executive Council of the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar from 2002-2008. Mr. Barbour was listed in the Top 100 Lawyers in Florida in the 2009 Florida Super Lawyers magazine and was listed in personal injury defense 2007 - 2009. Additionally, Mr. Barbour appeared on the Florida Trend Magazine's 2008 and 2009 Florida Legal Elite list in Civil Trial.
Mr. Barbour is a member of the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach (Board 1992-1998, President 1997-1998). He is a charter member of the The Bolles School Alumni Board and is a member of Leadership Jacksonville; Jacksonville Community Council, Inc.; Palms Presbyterian Church (Elder); and Ponte Vedra Inn and Club.
Mr. Barbour is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; U.S. District Court, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and All Florida Courts.
